On Wednesday 16th March, four Year 10 students went to King David High School in Liverpool to take part in a 'Maths Feast'. Lewis Derbyshire, Dominic Francis, Celvin Lee and Jack Simm made up Rainford's team to compete against over twenty other schools from Liverpool and the surrounding areas. The boys won three out of the four rounds including one on complex numbers (an A level Further Maths topic!) which they scored full marks. The other two winning rounds were true/false and quick fire questions, again full marks were achieved. At the end of each round one of the team had to go up to the front to receive their winning certificate. The 3rd round on shape and was the only one that they didn't win but they came very close. Event organiser Martin Bamber gave the Rainford Team a special mention at the end for their consistently high performance. Well done boys, a terrific afternoon's work!!
