Frank Gill

I have been a governor and latterly a trustee at Rainford High Academy since 2013 and was Chair of Governors from 2013 to 2017. I am a member of the Curriculum Standards Committee and the Safeguarding, Inclusion and Student Support Committee. I have a specific responsibility for monitoring the Sixth Form College.

I retired in 2011 after spending the majority of my working life in the Further Education sector. On retirement I was Principal of Knowsley Community College where I had worked for 21 years. As Principal I was accountable for a budget of up to £30million and for a staff of 600. I have considerable experience of many aspects of management within an educational environment which I feel are relevant to my role as Trustee, including

Strategic Planning, Management of Curriculum Change, Staff Recruitment and Welfare, Negotiating with Unions, Building Community Relationships, Budgetary Constraints and Best Value, Student Support Services

 Alongside my role as Principal I also served for four years to 2011 as a Non-executive Director with Knowsley Primary Care Trust. I have also carried out staff development at a large number of colleges throughout England and have spoken on several occasions at national conferences, on the themes of value added systems and best practice in school, college and local authority partnerships in 14-19 education, which are areas for which Knowsley Community College had a national reputation.

Knowsley NEET Strategy Group (Chair), Knowsley 14-19 Strategy Group (Member), Knowsley Chamber of Commerce (Board Director), Association of Colleges Adult Education National Strategy Group (Member), Whiston Hospital Organ Donation and Transplant Committee (Chair)
