Rainford Sixth Form celebrates outstanding A-Level results
Students from Rainford Sixth Form are jumping for joy following an exceptional year of A-Level results.
The sixth form opened its doors to expectant students at 8:00am, where staff welcomed them and handed over the envelopes which held their fate.
- 45% of students achieved A*-B grades at A level with 49% achieving the top tier of grades in all level 3 qualifications.
- 78% of students achieved A*-C grades at A level with 82% achieving A*-C grades or the equivalent in all level 3 qualifications.
- 100% of students achieved A*-E grades in all level 3 qualifications
Half of students have received offers from Russell Group Universities, with some students taking up opportunities of higher level apprenticeships.
Alex Edwards, from Eccleston, has secured a place at Lancaster University after receiving three A* in Physics, Maths and Further Maths. Alex will study Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology.
Bailey Morgan, from Windle, has secured a place at Durham University to study Maths after receiving two A*’s in Maths and Further Maths and an A in Physics.
Principal Ian Young said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard over the past couple of years to get to this point and we are all so proud to see their dedication has paid off.
“This year, the results have been a positive reflection of the students’ commitment and hard work and have been supported fantastically by all the staff in the Sixth Form team.”
The modern and purpose built Rainford Sixth Form provides for approximately 300 students and is large enough to facilitate a broad range of subjects and experiences, yet still ensure all students are known as individuals and are personally supported.
