Our Curriculum at Rainford High embraces our school’s ethos of Everyone Matters, Everyone Helps and Everyone Succeeds.

Everyone Matters – All students receive a curriculum of breadth and balance that fully engages and develops their potential. Our curriculum provides them with the opportunity to explore, engage and succeed in learning by developing knowledge, skills, vocabulary and understanding which allows them to thrive both academically and personally. Assessment systems are planned to be regular and consistent to identify gaps in knowledge and allow teachers to support learners in making progress and achieving success.

Everyone Helps – By collaborating within teams the Academy is building a curriculum that means staff understand, and can deliver to students, a KS3 Curriculum that builds a depth of knowledge, skills, vocabulary and understanding. This KS3 curriculum leads into a balanced KS4 curriculum, with a range of opportunities, so that students can succeed academically, creatively and socially. Knowledge, skills and understanding are developed in order to allow students to transition effectively into KS5 either within or beyond the school.

Our curriculum is underpinned by high quality teaching and learning that enables high quality curriculum planning, the development of high levels of subject-specific knowledge and skills, alongside subject-specific pedagogy.

Everyone Succeeds – All students achieve their full potential and are able to move on to the next stage of their development and learning with the qualifications, knowledge and skills that allows them to thrive.
