Jane has worked in the education sector for over 20 years, working with children across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. She has managed KS1 and EYFS and is part of the SLT team, with a responsibility in Literacy, communication and language, and phonics. Jane is a Lancashire Language Lead raising standards in early communication.
Her experience includes working with children with a wide range of SEND, particularly within the autistic spectrum and she has a specific interest in learning differences that affect reading and writing.
Jane has an existing governing role at a local primary school, where she has responsibility for Pupil Premium and is Chair of the curriculum committee. As part of this role Jane has much experience of the recruitment of staff across the school.

I have over 20 years’ experience volunteering within youth organisations, holding a variety of leadership and governance roles at both local and county level. Through this work, I have developed a strong commitment to supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential. I have served as a school governor for the past three years and am passionate about contributing to the ongoing success, wellbeing and development of the school community.

I have worked in education for over twenty years and have held a range of senior leadership positions within secondary education, including Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Mathematics.
As a former Headteacher, I have extensive experience in school improvement, curriculum development, assessment, data analysis, strategic leadership and governance. During my leadership career I successfully led schools through external inspection processes and developed a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing schools and the communities they serve.
My previous governance experience includes serving as a Governor at Crawford Village Primary School, where I held the roles of Vice Chair and Chair of the Standards Committee. During my time on the governing body, the school achieved the highest judgements in successive inspections.
As both an educator and a parent of primary and secondary-aged children, I understand the significant impact that school decisions have on young people and their families. I am passionate about ensuring that every child has access to high-quality educational, social and cultural experiences that enable them to thrive, achieve their ambitions and realise their full potential.
I am proud to serve as a Governor at Rainford High School and to contribute my experience in education, leadership and governance to support the school’s vision and aspirations. Effective governance is essential in helping schools provide the highest standards of education, care and opportunity for every student.
