The four strands through which we will improve whole-school literacy at Rainford are:
- Extended writing.
Reading.
Communication (speaking & listening).
Raising the profile of literacy.
Activities to improve pupils’ literacy will be implicitly taught in weekly form-time activities and through all Curriculum Areas. Pupils’ work in all lessons will be marked for literacy, using the whole-school literacy marking codes shown in the literacy guide for pupils and parents below.
