Michelle is a qualified accountant, having qualified with Grant Thornton, Chartered Accountants in The Liver Buildings, Liverpool, for the first 10 years of her career.
In her time at Grant Thornton, Michelle had a broad range of clients including Plc’s, a variety of medium sized owner managed businesses, Motor retailers, Charitable organisations and Pension schemes.
Michelle entered the Education Sector in 2005 as Finance manager of a local college and was quickly promoted to Finance director in January 2006. She has successfully steered the college through a £27m New Build timely and within budget. Following a restructure in 2007 Michelle on a wider role to Deputy Principal Finance & Resources. More recently, in August 2017, Michelle has led the college through a merger of two colleges.
Michelle’s role now includes strategic responsibility for Finance, facilities and operations, Health & Safety, Information technology, Management Information Systems and Human Resources and manages the £20m+ budget successfully for the organisation despite funding restraints.
Michelle’s skills and expertise make her a valued member of the Trust Board and a trusted Chair of the Finance Committee at Rainford.
