🇰🇪 Trip to Kenya! 🇰🇪
A group of our students spent a month in Kenya taking part in a once-in-a-lifetime expedition. During their time there, they helped build homes for local families, repaired school buildings, supported conservation projects, worked alongside local ...communities, and learnt about Kenyan culture and traditions first hand.
Along the way, they climbed mountains, cleaned beaches, learnt local cooking skills, helped on farms, and even set up wildlife camera traps that captured a black rhino, reportedly one of the best sightings of the season!
Of course, there was also time to enjoy some unforgettable safari experiences, seeing lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and crocodiles in the wild.
The students represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip. They embraced every challenge, threw themselves into every opportunity and returned home with memories, friendships and experiences that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Tomorrow we are excited to welcome all of our students back to school, and a very special welcome goes to our new Year 7 students joining the Rainford family! 💙
If you're feeling a little nervous about your first day, don't worry,... that's completely normal. Here's what you can expect:
✅ When you arrive, you will go straight into assembly, where your form tutor will meet and collect you.
✅ You'll then spend time with your form group, getting to know each other and settling in.
✅ During the morning you'll:
📅 Receive and organise your timetable
🍽️ Complete your canteen biometrics
📸 Have your school photograph taken
🚨 Learn about our fire drill procedures
✅ You'll attend your normal lessons for Periods 3, 4 and 5.
❗ You do NOT need to bring your PE kit tomorrow as Year 7 will not have PE on their first day. Just bring your normal school equipment and be ready to learn!
🚌 At 2.55pm, we'll help everyone get organised into their bus queues, giving you plenty of time to find where you need to be before heading home.
Everyone at Rainford is so excited to welcome you into our community. We are all here to help you settle in, make new friends and have a fantastic start to your secondary school journey.

They’ve hit the ground running, heading straight onto the water for Day 1 of their Gold DofE expedition — paddling down the River Ivalo and they've definitely got the weather for it! 🛶☀️
After a full day on the river, the ...hammocks are up, camp is made and it’s time to get some well-earned sleep before another day on the water tomorrow. 🌊💪
