Our wonderful Year 8 Textiles class has a fabulous time last week designing paper dresses on mannequins. To see their designs come to life, they used Ai to generate pictures of their designs on the catwalk! What a great use of design and Ai ✨️

🏉 Pic 2: Year 9 boys rugby turned in a professional performance to win a place in the St. Helens Cup final for the third year is a row 🙌.
The long-awaited match started strong with a try for Archie, and by half time, the score was 14-3!! Although the visitors tried to pull in back in the second half try's by Will, Sami and Issac paved the way to victory with Archie adding 5 goals along the way 👏 Special mentions also for Harry and Dom with their solid performance throughout 👏. Best of luck for the final boys ✨️

Eden Day 2!! Year 8 are have had an amazing time exploring the Eden Project. 🌿
Students learnt how photosynthesis can be used to support human habitats on Mars before exploring the rainforest. 🌱
Then back to the beach for campfires and fun 🔥
The Year 8 trip to the Eden project got off to a great start with students braving the traditional UK weather and having a splash in the sea 🥶 before heading back for hot chocolates to warm up!! They are the Eden project today to explore the different biomes 🌱🌿🌵
✨ Rainford CC Class Trip to Haydock Library ✨
Before half term our class had a fantastic visit to Haydock Library, packed full of exploration, creativity, and most important fun! 📚
The children enjoyed a guided tour where they learned about different areas of the library ...and how books are organised. They then took part in a fun challenge, finding items located in different sections, putting their new knowledge to the test! 🔍
They also got creative by making a beautiful paper mosaic, which will be added to the library display, such a lovely way to leave their mark! 🎨
We even stepped back in time to learn about the history of mining in St Helens, discovering just how tough life was and how hard people worked, often for very little pay. ⛏️
A highlight for many was exploring the sensory room, with its calming seating, sensory bags, and interactive resources. It was a big hit, everyone said they would love to go back! 💛
A huge thank you to Haydock Library for such a warm welcome and an engaging visit!

A team of 7 intrepid hikers took on the three peaks challenge!! Attempting to hike all 3 of the UK's highest peaks in less than 24hrs.
A swift start up Ben Nevis (only hindered by the shoe eating bog!!) Had the team in great spirits. However, a road closure in the lakes nearly ...scuppered the attempt. Never to be deterred, our team decided to hike into Skafell via Eskdale, adding another 8km to their route!! But this decision paid dividends, and another peak was conquered.
Injuries meant that by the time they got to the last peak only 4 remained standing: Riley, Alfie, Sorren and Mr Rothwell.
With just Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to complete the challenge, the team had to dig deep and give it their all. A no-nonsense pep talk from Riley had the team up Snowdon in record time to complete the challenge in 23hrs and 6 mins!!
What an absolutely amazing adventure and achievement for them all!!

Year 10 started their bronze qualifying DofE expedition in the Ribble Valley! Good luck and have fun guys ✨️
With no more exams until after the half term holiday, year 11 took the afternoon off for some well-earned R&R. With our annual R vs H football match, the atmosphere was electric, with the supporters making amazing hand drawn signs to support their team and favourite players!!
The ...game ended with a draw, but H side managed to win on penalties. The important thing was that everyone got to have some downtime after a brilliant start to the GCSE's.

Over the spring term, a small cohort of Year 9 students joined with students from Mill Green School to make collaborative artwork for the fun and joy of it! 🎨
The project was facilitated by Createarts and brought together students over a series of workshops to produce a shared ...output. The main aim of the project was to break down barriers around disability, as well as to build teamwork, confidence, and art skills, and gave our young people a chance to make friends and have fun ✨️
