Consultation on Proposed Changes to School Uniform (September 2027)
In keeping with our value that Everyone Helps, we are also reviewing how we can better support families through our school uniform.
We are launching a formal consultation with parents, carers, students and staff regarding a proposed change to our uniform, with implementation planned for September 2027.
The consultation will run from Friday 22nd May to Monday 22nd June 2026, and we warmly encourage you to share your views.
Why are we proposing a change?
This proposal is shaped by three key priorities:
- Supporting families through cost reduction
We recognise the financial pressures that many families are facing. The proposed changes would:
- Reduce the overall cost of uniform by approximately 40%
- Limit compulsory branded items to no more than three
- Provide greater flexibility to purchase more affordable alternatives
- Creating a more inclusive and comfortable uniform
We want all students to feel comfortable and confident in school. The proposal aims to:
- Better support students with sensory or additional needs
- Reduce anxiety around uniform compliance
- Improve wellbeing, engagement and attendance
- Reflecting modern expectations while maintaining high standards
Expectations around dress are changing, with greater emphasis on comfort and practicality. At the same time, we remain committed to high standards.
The proposed uniform will:
- Maintain a clear school identity
- Promote pride and belonging
- Uphold our expectations for behaviour and conduct
What is being proposed?
From September 2027, the uniform would consist of:
- A branded school shell jacket
- A branded polo/ sports shirt
- Branded stadium track pants or leggings
- Footwear will be plain black trainers
This simpler approach supports affordability, inclusion and sustainability while remaining smart and appropriate.
We have decided to make other branded items available such as PE kit but parents if they so desire will be able to purchase non branded items in the appropriate colour and style from any high street or online retailer
Our values at the centre
This proposal reflects our ethos:
- Everyone Matters – ensuring dignity, fairness and inclusion
- Everyone Helps – reducing pressure on families
- Everyone Succeeds – enabling students to focus fully on learning
